PROGRESSIVE SURF COACHING FOR WOMEN

NO IT'S NOT ABOUT 'CONNECTING", NOR ABOUT "MEETING LIKEMINDED WOMEN', NOR IS IT ABOUT "BUILDING CONFIDENCE" OR ANY OF THAT WISHY-WASHY CRAP.

JUST ELITE TECHNICAL COACHING FOR WOMEN.

AS SEEN IN

NO FLUFF, JUST ELITE COACHING (FOR WOMEN)

Women in surfing have been sold a lie. We're constantly told that it's all about "connecting", or a place to "meet likeminded people", and all that BS.

Sure, these things are a neat little byproduct of the sport, but it's not what makes surfing so fun.

What makes surfing fun is actually getting better, and the reason it's so fun - and addictive - is that it's so damn hard.

Just making the slightest little improvement feels frickin awesome!

And that's what the House of Surf is here to provide; No-fluff, elite technical surf coaching - for women that actually want to get better - packaged neatly into intensive weekend courses, with tailored outcomes.

WHY WE'RE GOOD AT WHAT WE DO...

First up, we're good at what we do because all courses are run by me (Lauren Ringer), and I've been surfing since the age of 12, have competed all over the world on the Challenger Series (formerly the WQS), and have coached surfing for the past 20 years.

I know what I'm talking about, and come from an elite sporting background, so you can rest assured that the coaching and tuition you'll be getting comes from an actual expert.

Furthermore, we're focused on progression above everything else.

So if you want to get better, you're definitely in the right place.

HOW THE COURSES WORK

So if you're interested in joining us for an intensive weekend course, here's what you can expect.

We split the weekends into four sessions, with each session consisting of the following:

PART 1: IN DEPTH THEORY

With each course having its own unique curriculum, we go deep into the theory side of things to make absolutely certain you know what we're working on for each water session.

PART 2: SURF DRILLS & BEACH COACHING

After the theory we hit the water to practice what you've learnt.

We'll go through a series of in-water drills to hyper focus on the skills we're practicing, with your coach monitoring and filming from the beach providing regular feedback throughout.

*Note: You will not have a coach assisting in the water. All coaching is done from the beach so you must be competent at catching your own waves.

PART 3: VIDEO ANALYSIS

With every wave of the in-water session filmed, the final part of the session is dissecting the footage at hand.

Each wave broken down frame by frame, clearly illustrating where you have any technical blindspots, what you're doing well, and what you could improve, so that we can develop a crystal clear progression pathway for you to follow and improve.

We then rinse and repeat this format over the two days you're with us.

THE RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

And it's through this process that we've seen some insane transformations over the years, with people making HUGE strides forward in rapid time.

Just like some of these ladies below:

Had a beautiful weekend away in the Mount with the House of Surf on the Longboard foundations course.

I’ve done 2 of their weekend courses now and they’re jam packed full of info dedicated to getting more women in the water… well worth a get away to the mount if you want to up-skill…

Couldn’t recommend these legends more.

Louise Corrie

I can highly recommend the 2 day longboard course through House of Surf!!

Zoe Mcintosh

The Progressor Course was the best experience I’ve had in surfing so far. Loz was fantastic.

I just wish I’d done this course 10 years ago, you won’t regret it!!!

Shahn Forrester

Great teaches , great vibe, amazing waves.

Having a bit of traumatic past in the water I have traditionally had a very healthy respect for the sea.I must say that I never once felt afraid.

Day two things really clicked into gear and despite sore shoulders was able to catch many more waves than usual.

Instructors are patient, approachable and knowledgeable.

You will improve on this course

Victoria Baldie

I attended a weekend Progressor Course recently and have to say it blew my expectations out of the water. Loz and her team deliver the goods in the perfect way - some theory, lots of time in the water, and a whole heaps of laughs.

It was such a great weekend with such a great bunch of girls.

Highly recommend it- you learn skills to really boost your surfing progression.

Claire Noriss

I did the level 2 weekend course and absolutely loved it, instructors were fantastic, extremely knowledgable and understanding.

So much feedback and massive confidence booster for me.

Would highly recommend, and if unsure, phone Loz, she's great to talk to and so passionate.

MEET YOUR COACH

Hey, I'm Loz and I'll be your coach for the weekend.

I grew up in an elite sports environment, firstly through Squash then transitioning into Surfing.

Surfing through my teens on the Australian Junior Series, I went on to compete for my country (Australia) internationally, surfing all over the world, surfing against some of the worlds best.

After competing I took to travelling the world, then coaching.

I've since been life coaching and coaching surfing for over the past 20 years, and love teaching the finer, technical side of the sport.

FAQ'S

WHERE DO YOU RUN THE COURSES?

We run these courses in New Zealand and the UK currently.

Please check the upcoming course dates for each course for more info.

WILL THE COURSES EVER GET CANCELLED?

Courses will only ever be cancelled in situations where conditions are unsafe for us to run, or we're dealt a dud hand and it's flat.

If this happens we'll look to reschedule to the next available weekend.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT LEVEL I AM?

Boxing you into an exact level can be tricky, but a good guide is if you're surfing equipment over 7ft you'll be a level 2, and if you're surfing equipment under that size then you'll be a level 3.

But if in any doubt, just reach out via WhatsApp or drop us an email.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I'VE BOOKED ACCOMMODATION AND THE COURSE CAN'T RUN?

We strongly recommend that you book accommodation with a flexible cancellation policy as we'll make any call to cancel the course no later that 48 hours prior to its commencement.

That way, on the rare occasion we have to cancel you'll be protected.

DO I NEED MY OWN EQUIPMENT?

Yup. No equipment is provided so you'll need to bring your own kit.

IS FOOD PROVIDED?

We don't provide food unfortunately so you'll want to bring along a packed lunch, or money to buy food on the day.

WILL I NEED MY OWN TRANSPORT?

Transport is not 100% essential, however it's definitely advised as we frequently have to change locations to maximise the surf on offer.

Car sharing when you're here is a good option too.

WHAT IF IT'S RAINING?

We embrace all the elements: wind, hail or shine, and are ready to go whatever the weather.

Sure, we all want dreamy, sunny offshore conditions, but lets face it, that's just not always the case.

So we make the most of whatever the weather throws at us, the good and the bad.

WHAT IF THE SURF IS BAD?

Just like the weather, we embrace crap surf too.

In fact, we're not too concerned about the quality of the surf, instead far more focused on whether there are waves or not.

If we've got waves, we're good to go.
